GCSE Homework: John Proctor Essay

This week’s homework, gentlemen, is a re-write of your half-term essay, this time using the PEEL structure that we have discussed and practised using last week. To remind you, here’s the essay question again:

“John Proctor’s character is such that he is unable to avoid his fate.”

This should be in for Thursday, and again, I expect no fewer than 800 words.

More after the break…

First of all, take a look at the title. What is the key word that I want you to focus on here? What should you be the focus of the essay? (I’ll give you a clue. It rhymes with shmaracter.)

If you are having trouble remembering the PEEL work we did, you might like to take a look at my previous post here. It focuses on poetry, but the principle is exactly the same – just exchange the word “poet” for “author”.
